Direct Award in Scotland for new generation GP IT solution.

Cegedim Healthcare Solutions achieves its first Direct Award in Scotland to supply its new generation GP IT solution.

At the start of July Cegedim Healthcare Solutions was successfully awarded a call-off contract, following a Direct Award by NHS Tayside. The first pilot GP Practice in Tayside has now gone live, on the new Vision product suite on cegedim.cloud, in preparation for the migration of NHS Tayside’s other GP Practices which will now follow.

Cegedim Healthcare Solutions are pleased to share the successful signing of a call-off contract pursuant to the Framework Agreement signed in February 2019.

This is a seven year contract with a three-year extension opportunity and NHS Tayside is the first Health Board to choose to award a contract to Cegedim under this Managed Services Framework. This is the culmination of three years of hard work to enhance our product to meet the NHS Scotland specification, which successfully passed the Accreditation by National Services Scotland, on behalf of NHS Scotland, in March 2022.

NHS Tayside is an NHS Health Board with headquarters at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, one of the fourteen regions of NHS Scotland. It provides healthcare services in Angus, the city of Dundee, Perth and Kinross.

Tayside GP Practices have been Cegedim software users for many years and made the decision to move to Cegedim’s new suite of Vision solutions after requesting a proposal based on their current local requirements, and a successful evaluation process.
A pilot is underway with with Tay Court Surgery; one of the early adopters of Vision Anywhere in Tayside which will be followed by a staged rollout across NHS Tayside this month.

Russell Hale, Information Technology Manager at the Tay Court Surgery says about their experience:

“The migration to the new system has been a smooth process so far, with plenty of support along the way. It does require some preparation work and engagement by the practice users adopting the new system, but this is minimal and has been worthwhile.
“Users have commented on the considerable improvement to speed and it is a great benefit that the process of logging into the service is virtually identical to the process for the previous GP server. The whole process of migrating from first contact to post-live has been well supported by the Cegedim teams.”

Lana Chubakha, Managing Director Primary Care, Cegedim Healthcare Solutions said:

“We are happy to receive such positive feedback from a delighted customer, and we are looking forward to many more during the full rollout in Tayside. In addition to an improved user experience our new solution will lead to reduced capital costs for health boards and reduce admin for GP practices directly. Cegedim’s fully managed service and enhanced consultation functionality, saves time and creates efficiencies through integrated prescribing capability for clinicians. The solution supports delivery of improved patient facing services and enhances the patient experience and is a significant step towards the digital transformation of Scottish Primary Care and our role in supporting the NHS on this journey.”
